BA in Culture, Politics and Society (CPS)

zulassungsbeschränkt
kostenpflichtig

Accredited in the U.S. and Austria, BA in Culture, Politics and Society (CPS) provides an interdisciplinary Liberal Arts curriculum updated for 21st century challenges. The program is designed for the generation which has come of age after the digital revolution, living in a society flooded with information, disinformation and with technological transformations which continue to change how we learn, communicate, and relate to one another.

In this program you acquire skills for interpreting a wide variety of information, ranging from classical texts to statistical data, to understanding the algorithms behind common social media graphics. You are trained in the vital skills necessary for producing knowledge and communicating it in multi-media forms outside the classroom. You are also taught a rich and comprehensive curriculum in the social sciences and humanities, opening many paths towards a fourth-year specialization and completion of a BA major.

You progress from a broad-based first year, where courses are mandatory for all and experience the feeling of being part of a community, to increased specialization and course choice during the rest of the program. In the first year, you are offered a strong and wide-ranging foundation through specially designed courses that introduce you to the themes of Culture, Politics and Society. The Spring terms of the first three years are dedicated to experiential learning experiences. From the second year onwards, you have increasing freedom of course choice, and by the end of your studies you will have specialized in a disciplinary major and will have completed a specialized capstone project.
