Bachelor in Tourism and Hospitality Management (Major in Event Management)*

The focus of the major in Event Management is to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to design, deliver and assess dynamic events, differing in scope and across a range of purposes. Building on the fundamentals of business administration and management covered in the common body of knowledge, students develop their capacity to think creatively and critically to design, develop and stage innovative and successful events. The courses are designed to cover the entire events cycle: From the inception of an idea or concept to the operationalization thereof, including professional project management, the staging phase of an event and the post-event assessment and critical impact analysis. Principles of sustainable event management are paramount in our approach to the topic and are intertwined with professional acumen across the specialization.

Why should you choose this study field?

This program is the perfect choice for high school graduates (A-level degree, Matura, Abitur, or equivalent) who have already gained practical education in the tourism and hospitality industry prior to entering the program (via apprenticeship, vocational school, associate degrees, etc.). It is also an excellent choice for students without prior practical education in the tourism and hospitality sector if their primary focus is to pursue a career in event management, tourism businesses, organizations, or related industries rather than a career in the hotel or food service industry.
