About the role

I’m a native English speaker at German A1/A2 level looking for a relaxed, conversation-focused German tutor to meet daily in Vienna’s coffee houses. These sessions will run alongside a formal course I’m already enrolled in, so the goal isn’t structured grammar teaching but spoken practice with a focus on Austrian German and everyday usage.

Sessions will be informal: small talk, pronunciation, and building the confidence to actually use what I’m learning in class.

What you’ll do

• Lead easy, patient conversations pitched slightly above my current level
• Correct pronunciation, grammar, and word choice as we talk
• Introduce useful vocabulary and expressions
• Help me practise situations I’ll actually encounter (cafés, shops, small talk)

Ideal candidate

• Native  speaker of (Austrian) German
• Currently studying German linguistics, Germanistik, German as a Foreign Language, or training/working as a German language teacher
• Some tutoring, teaching, or language exchange experience preferred but not essential
• Comfortable working with beginners and adjusting pace on the fly
• Based in Vienna and happy to meet in coffee houses around the city (either morning or afternoon, some flexibility)
• Friendly, patient
